Can a front diff off of a 06 or older sportsman 800 work on a 2011 850 ?
I'm trying to find a new front diff and I heard that a 06 or older front diff on a 800 will work for a newer 850 but I'm not sure if that is true any help would be appreciated.

No, I don't think it will work. I think you'll be stuck finding a gearcase from another XP. The part numbers do not match, and looking at the housings for each, it looks like the input shafts are on opposite sides. I also remember when the XPs were coming out, the polaris reps mentioned that no gearcases, tranny, or engine were being brought over from the sportsman line-up to the XPs. It was all new designs.
