wheel spacers are usually used to make wheels stand wider than the atv was intendid to be, this causes the possibility of adding wider tires as they wont rub.
there are other pros involving the spacers such as increased floatability, stability as the atv is wider and so on.
some cons would be, well A. the atv becomes wider, and you wont be able to go/fit through trails.
B. im sure some may disagree/state they had spacers for a long time with no problems, but the spacers can increase a chance of breaking something and induce bigger wear.
for example, if you put 2 " spacers and get 2" wider tires (as the atv allows them to fit without rubbing)
those 2" increase the footprint, sinking less and spreading the weight onto more ground.
BUT, those 2 extra inches also will increase friction, this being said, that friction will require more power to turn and so on, causing more wear on the belt (unless you use low, but you get my point)
and that 1 extra detail is always something that could break off or untighten over time.
as for spacers, brands, variants, and sizes, i never ran them and could not tell you the difference they make in terns of stability, but i would imagine a 2" wider tire(thanks to the spacer) would help alot in traction.
hope i helped.
