Question

I have been experiencing a disturbing wobble in the right front wheel when I get it up to the 40-43 mph range. We are able to drive on the roads where I live so it's not like I'm blasting down a rough trail at these speeds. This is occurring on the highway where the speed limit is 50 mph. I don't see anything wrong with the wheel or tire. Pressure is 5 psi in the front and 4 psi in the rear.
The wobble is quite pronounced and it feels like I might lose control or catastrophic failure is imminent.
Anyone had an issue like this? Any thoughts?

Could be a bad wheel bearing or something bent in front suspension. I would get it checked out by a mechanic.

Not trying to insult you but are your wheel nuts tight? A bad wobble should reveal something way out of whack.

Not Insulted At All

Actually I can't remember if I checked the lug nuts so I'd better do that to be sure. Don't see anything bent in the area either.

check the front end for anything loose,if you find nothing then take both front tires to a tire shop and have them spin on a balancer to check for out of round tire and bent wheel.

Bearings would be my first guess, provided tires and lug nuts are good.

I had a bad wobble at high speed and after checking everything over I took the wheel into a tire shop to see if they could balance it. It was out by 8 ounces and they wouldn't balance it. I had them take off the tire and try to spin it on the rim to see if it could get a better weight distribution. Found it full of slime. It was cold and the slime wasn't spreading out like it does when its warm. Even when its cold it will eventually spread out and the wobble diminishes.
