Anyone use electric spray tanks on their ATV?
I own a landscape business, and was looking to mount an electric spray tank on the back of my Sportsman for spraying Round Up, and weed killer. Not sure how many amps these electric pumps draw, will the battery and stator on my 500 Sportman keep up for a couple hours of spraying? Or will it run it douwn pretty quick? Anybody?

Alot of farmers in the area use these sprayers. They have a seperate battery. The say they do that to keep from running the atv battery down. I would use a seperate battery if I were you.

We have one mounted for around the house and farm, and you can hook it up to the batery in the atv. As long as you keep it running as you spray, it will be fine!

My buddy has a Firmco that we use to spray our food plots. We use it for about an hour at a time with only a handful of quick shut offs. It pulls 8 amps according to the manual. We've never had any issues with the battery during or after use.

The reason I asked, years ago when I got in the spray business I bought and older Polaris maybe a 98 sprortsman 335 or sum such. Well I had a hell of a time making this rig work, drained the battery fast, even with the engine running. Thank God it had a back up pull starter or I'd of been stranded on a job. I even went as far to get an external battery and still had problems. I could never figure it out. So I went and bought a John Deere Gator and all was solved since it had an alternator and not a stator. I've since sold that Gator and want to use the ATV for spraying again.
