Not sure if it makes a difference or not but I am an acquaintance of a man who is the head technician at a motorsports shop that does not service Polaris but is willing to do my water pump seals and oil seal at his house. He has never done a Polaris so he isn't sure if it is any different than doing a Honda or Kawasaki or what all the job entails. Do y'all think it's better off going to someone who services Polaris or is a job like this a no brainier for someone with a background in power sports service?

He should be smart enough to work on it. I am a auto tech I can work on many types of cars. If he takes it off it goes back on the same way just with the new pump
He should be fine, one of the best Polaris mechanics in my town works at a Yamaha dealership. I guess there is more work for him fixing broken Yamahas than broken Polaris, even though Polaris probably outsells Yamaha. Also, water pumps are not rocket science.
