Requirements for Black Hills Trail Riding
Does anyone know the actual requirement for a horn for trail riding in the black hills. Does it have to be a mounted horn or will a handheld air horn work?

I didn't even know there was a requirement for the Black Hills...we are planning on going there this summer. Where did you see this requirement?

If their regulation is like Montana's, it has to be a hard wired horn. A squeeze bulb or horn in a can won't cut it. You'll have to check it out.

I knew about the registration sticker but having to hard wire a horn on all the wheelers sucks

actually I like mine, when your riding with other people you can get close to them and honk the horn and they will hear it and stop if you want them to, you can get their attention. I bought a small car horn from O'reilly's for like $15 dollars, it fits in the headlight pod on the 850, there is a hot wire to cig lighter right there, used a spring loaded toggle switch , had to drill hole in lower part of headligt pod, bet I didnt use much over 1 ft of wire and a few crimp on ends, prettyy simple works very well, horn and wiring in and up away from moisture

I have never heard of a mirror, horn, or taillights being required to ride in the hills, only to be street legal. Now the sticker is required to ride certain numbered trails.
