Oil Change 700 twin

Hi .... just picked up a 2003 700 twin, so went to the polaris dealer and got a oil change kit. Buddy tells me to just change the oil in the reservoir, well guys am I going blind or what cause I ain't seeing no reservoir. So now what ? DRAIN plug beneath crankcase and refill in dipstick tube?.Is this the proper way to change the oil on this machine.THANKS.

The twins are like a car, no priming, no reservoir, no nonsense...
Just remove the plug, drain the oil, remove filter, replace the filter, refill with 2 quarts fluid, run and check level...

EASY EASY...

BTW, I MUCH prefer WIX filters (IIRC #357) and I use Mobil 1 0W40 full syn oil.

Yup, CW beats me to another one. My expertise is low but I do know my 700's these days. thought I could help. But darned if that CW didn't upstage me again. (That's OK because he helpde me gain my expertise)

Anyway, welcome to the community and congrats on getting a great machine. Enjoy it and be safe.

????
Is that the number on the Wix box? I thought all Wix oil filters were 5 digits and started with a 5?? Napa Gold filters are Wix filters made with the Napa name on them. They drop the 5 off the front of the part # . Asking because I would like to use the Wix on my machine. They have the best oil filters on the market.

The NAPA number is 1357. WIX is 51357.

Thanks Stew, my Napa dealer confirmed that number by application. Been following your thread on fuel pumps. My Carter pump came in today at Napa. Going to pick them up now. Hope to do some repairs this weekend.
