2007 Sportsman 800 melted plastic

I have 2 months left on my 60 month warranty and my 800 has lots of melted parts: air box, seat, bottom of fuel tank, and side panel. How much of a hassle is it going to be to get this stuff fixed under warranty?

Dealer said no chance on any melted parts under warranty. I paid 1200 for the extended warranty and their exhaust melted the parts. Any suggestions?

Fast is fine, but accuracy is final. You have to learn how to be slow in a hurry.

That is the problem with the extended warranties. They aren't worth the paper they are writen on. Polaris would have taken care of it under the original warranty. But to late for that. Sorry bud, I think your up that famous creek...and your paddle is melted!!!!!

The dealer replaced everything, they said it took some doing, but Polaris paid for the parts and the dealer covered the labor. I had decided to buy the stuff myself and make sure the next Polaris I got didn't get the extended warranty. QUESTION: What do I do to prevent a recurrence of the melted plastic? I ordered the heat shield kit that the dealer recommended. Isn't there something like ceramic coating the exhaust that will help?
