polaris 425 fuel pump

Got a 98 Polaris magnum 425, just bought this bike. It had been sitting for several years and would not run. I replaced battery, fuel lines, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, spark plug, cleaned the carb. I got it to run for a few moments then it would die. Now it won't run and gas pours out of the carb!!!! I cleaned it several more times. Nothen has changed!!!! Got a new carb, same issue. Put the old fuel filter on and it would run and would NOT dump fuel out. Now it bogs down then idles high and sometimes run ok.... Need some help.. I'm out of ideas...

So your saying with a new fuel filter, fuel pours out, but wit the old one, it doesnt? Thats really wierd.

If you feel you've tried everything, try putting a new spark plug in. Ive seen new ones that don't even work...Rare, but it happens.

Just try and isolate the problems in your head.

Sounds like you are having an issue with your fuel. Is the fuel pump working? if so, forget about that, and move down the line. Is the fuel getting to the carb? If so, good. Is it getting into the bowl, and from the bowl, through the jets? I suspect your problem may lie in here somewhere. Why is fuel pouring out? Where is it coming from? A torn gasket? Bad carb boot? What about your air filter?

Its hard to do this online lol

Hey thanks for the Ideas I'll go through them step by step and see what happens. I did originally install a new plug but I'll try another new one. The fuel came out of the same places on the old and new carbs. It comes out through the intake port. Air filter is new as well. Yeah I hear ya on its hard to diag online! Even when the bike is off it will fill the carb then over fill into the air box then that pours all over the ground...

Well I took the carb apart and cleaned it and adjust the float and needle. Still same issue. Seems like it either getting too much fuel (with new fuel filter) and seems to be starving for fuel with old fuel filter....

if gas is runnin out of carb, needle and seat are bad, is engine oil gassy?

The carb is bran new... I did adjust it anyways but still fuel comes out the carb.......

Im soo stumped. No checked the oil and it's fine. I guess I'm gona have to adjust the float again.?.

Check to see ,that you didn't hook the vent and fuel incorrectly

that would cause it if fuel and vacume line got swityched, brand new carb huh?

I swapped them and got the same basic results. K I think I found a major issue and a way to fix it!! Long story short I found out that there is no fuel getting to the bowl. Its only getting to the top part of the carb wich is causeing it to over flow to the cylinder and air box. I think I can fix it buy installing a new fuel pump on. Does this make sense? And any other issues you might think of? Thanks a lot for the help too!!!!!!!!
