Wanting to go bigger

Hello everyone, I'm the proud owner (WV is Honda land, believe me) of an 09' Polaris Sportsman 500 HO. I like most everything about it but I'd like a bit more ground clearance. I don't do much/any mudding but the trails are rocky and even with the respectable stock ground clearance I get some dragging here and there. So, I am looking for suggestions for a taller (26/27 inch tire) that is pretty light and something easy on the wallet. I'd prefer a light tire as to not lose much performance (aka, need a clutch kit) and something that has a nice ride (radial) as I mainly stick to trails but those can get pretty rocky at times. I had found that Kenda makes the Bear Claw in a 27 that I can get for like $360 and I've also looked at the Big Horn 2.0's but those are a touch more and I've not seen them in a 27 inch tire. So, what would you all suggest?

Thanks!

Skid plates!!!
Rather than tires I'd get some skids. Bighorns 1.0 for tires. But skids for the protection.

28" Zillas will fit without a lift but you don't want Zillas for rocks I assure you. I also say bighorns. They make a 27" in the orignal BigHorn but only for a 12" wheel. They only make a 26" for the 2.0s. Although, the BigHorns, both originals and 2.0s run big unlike most tires. So for a 26" you'll be closer to 27" of actual tire. Happy Hunting!!

Thanks for the suggestions guys and I may go for the 2.0 Bighorn. They are lighter so upsizing shouldn't sacrifice much power. And yeah, the zillas would be a good choice for someone who wanted bigger w/o lifting or clutching as they are light weight but for climbing they don't look ideal. Plus, the horn's are radial which should provide more ride quality and the extra height I'm looking for.
