A little spit shine

Yep, here's what a few hours of work will do for you. I ran out of "black majic" so the black plastic parts still need to be done. I also need to find my "mothers" wheel ball and get those wheels shinned up, there's a lot of muck on there that can be taken off if I can find that damn ball. Doing it by hand is such a pain in the ass. Anyway, took the front and rear racks completely off to polish it with the buffer. I will order some special plastic polishing compound from my favorite detail store and really get that penny gleaming. But since the wife and I have plans tonight I didn't want to spend the usual 5-8 hours of detailing. Plus it is still muddy as hell in my back yard after all that snow/rain we got last week.

looks great. I do notice that the front looks like it's sagging a lot but the wheels aren't bowed out, must just be the angle of the camera or the yellow throwing me off. if the nose is pointed down throw on a set of the spring adjusters or aftermarket springs to get it sitting level

I'll park it on level ground and take a look at that. Thanks for pointing it out and giving the suggestion on how to fix it!

sure no problem. I know a lot of older polaris' tend to have sag in the springs which is normal for any spring. Usually you can tell right off the bat but the camber on the tires showing it, your camber looks good in the pics which leads me to think the angle of the camera is throwing the look off. Either way a new set of springs raise the front doing away with the "raked" look. I personally can't stand the forward rake on, for instance say, a stock 2wd pickup, I always have to throw a leveling kit on there to even it out.

My only concern is I have a plow with this setup and I already have a hard enough time getting the plow plate to catch under the quad. Lifting the front up will probably make that task that much harder. I'm still going to entertain the thought and idea though!

bigt,

The adjuster's you mention, is the below what your talking about?

FRONT SPRING PRE-LOAD ADJUSTERS from Pure Polaris Off-Road Vehicle Accessories & Apparel

When I got my `07 SP 800, the previous owner had the Elka helpers
on it. With reading about all the sag problems people have, I couldn't
find them on their site. Finally called and was told they don't make them
anymore, not enough sales.

The previous owner never had them turned up at all, I turned them up
to where they are in the pic, and made a huge difference in leveling
out the look plus to me it made it easier steering. Right now they're set at
about half way, so I have more to go if needed. I don't know why they
stopped selling them as it seems from the reading I've done with sag on
here, sales could've went up. I like the thread adjustment myself.

That things looking real good, but after spending all that time cleaning it, are you sure you want to take it out and get it dirty ?.
