sorry about that, I am new to uploading videos to here and to youtube, it should work now, it is nothing special really. You can just see us putting around down some old fire roads and a little trail. I changed the settings on youtube so it should work now.

Cool video! I am going out there in June. Will I have any trouble getting down the trails with my RZRs? Some of them look pretty narrow!

Honestly you should have no problem getting around, I saw a bunch of rzrs and can ams out and they had no problems going through the trails.

Hey BW Kid, what have you heard about the new trail regulations and licensing requirements? I have been riding out there for 20 years (will be heading back in June) but have been hearing alot on how things have changed and they have stepped up enforcement of where you can't ride. We always stay at Trailshead Lodge (20 miles W of Lead/Deadwood on Hwy 85) so I've never gotten over to the Piedmont area although I have been hearing more about it lately. I'm currently trying to get a map from a friend of mine who works for SD DOT and see how the trail system has changed, but needless to say I'm a little worried at what I'm going to be shut off from.
In response to icefishur, you should have no problems bw kid said. Most of the trails are accessible for 50" or less machines - assuming you have the normal RZR and not a S model. According to different things I've read, they are going to start limiting access for SxS greater than 50" wide as well.

From what I understand you are supposed to get a trail permit now (25.00 annually) from the forestry service to ride in the hills. I don't have one yet nor have I seen anyone else with one on their machines. I talked to the forestry service a while back and it is a sticker that you put on the left side of your machine around the gas tank area (on a quad.) Depending on where you ride may determine how hard they enforce this. I haven't seen game fish and parks out where we were riding.

A permit is required to ride in the BHFS areas. They are available online for 25$. I just got 2 of them. Bison, I do have the RZRs and at 60'' I am a bit concerned that I may be limited to roads. If this is the case,....I will not stay long and not be back. I hope things pan out of as this trip has been planned for about 4 months and I would hate to not have a good time. I have been to Hill City Minnesota a couple time and had a blast. I know you can get around there with the s model. I may do some more research and go back there instead.

Yeah I saw that as well, but there was talk a person may be able to avoid that permit if you are licensed for highway use (as I currently am). Also have you heard about any trails being newly closed? I just talked to a friend today from out there and they said they have been hearing everything is the more or less the same as previous years besides being able to leave the main trail (no overland riding anymore) - which is fine with me I guess. Just leave things as they have been, don't shut off anything else, and make me license or buy a permit and thats just fine. Like I've always said, the ranchers (cattle) and loggers do more damage in one day to the land then I've done in 20+ years of riding out there so just leave me whats there and make sure its marked and all is good!
