Looks great. I am thinking about going up to CO next year. A friend of mine just got back from a place in CO called Lake City. I need research that as well. Where did you camp? I have toy hauler camper so need to find a campground in Taylor Park.

i've heard of lake city and would love to ride there. we stayed in cabins at taylor park, but their is an rv park close to the cabins with full hookups. you can also camp along the taylor river in some dispersed camping, but no electric.

it can be very busy there in july and august. august will give you the best riding for mild temps and your not as likely to get wet. plus, the upper elevation trails should have all the snow melted off by then. but even as busy as it is, its my favorite place to ride in colorado...so far!

here's their website....good luck and maybe we'll see you out there sometime!

Welcome to Taylor Park Trading Post

There are a couple of campgrounds there in TP and two or three national forest CG north of the lake, but I recommend the dispersed camping method. Once you get there, you will understand why. Most folks who have been there before do not use the campgrounds. However, if you have never been there before then 1 or 2 nights in a campground would be a good idea as that will give you a day or two to scout out a place to move to. That also would allow you to pull up to TP without a tank full of water and then fill up at the CG. There is also a potable water hose there at the trading post you could use to fill your tank and a dump station a couple miles south towards Tincup.
