Alpine Loop, Co

Between Lake City & Silverton Colorado there is a well used 4x4 Jeep trail that winds around 4 of Colorado's 14,000+ ft peaks. The trail climbs up and over 2 mtn passes above 12,000 ft. I was testing out my new Maxxis Bighorn tires which I had just installed to replace the worn out OEM tires. the Bighorns are great tires and this was a great ride in the Rocky Mountains, with my Black Lab sitting behind me all day. I swapped my hard rear storage pack for a padded soft sided rear pack, to make a seat for the dog.

Ransom,

My summer home is in South Fork. I ride right from my garage up to 13,000 ft.
I'm packing up this week and heading south, to my winter ranch in southern NM; be back up here in May.
Let me know when you're headed to South Fork next summer and I'll be glad to show you a few of my favorite trails.
You can see more pics of some of this summer's rides around South Fork & Creede at my blog

Jim,

thanks for the offer. i will probably take you up on it. their will be a group of us, maybe 5 atv's. we like to ride just about anything. hard, easy, smooth or technical. we're not high speed either. we enjoy the scenery as much as the riding.
