Photo of the Month Discussion Thread
Use this thread to discuss anything related to the POTM contest....or ask questions.
If you need help posting a photo, want to do a test to see how big or little your photo will be when posted, feel free to do it here.
No question is to dumb to ask, dont be shy if not knowing how to post pictures or resize pictures is what is keeping you from playing along. Just ask, and one of us will help...
If you would like to discuss pictures with other members, you may do that here too, since I asked to keep the chitter chatter off of the official thread.

is there any way to put this on the forum list instead of in the media section ???
i mean make a pic of the month forum section

hopefully...its not something i can do, but i am hopeing this attracts enough attention that dascrow or 4nines will do this for us.

Was thinking, is this a good idea to be able to change your pic as many
times as you want during the contest?
As the thread grows in posts, this would mean much back tracking to
see who (if anyone) changed their pic. I guess this could sway your vote over time
as if you see a pic you like, it may not be there for the voting time.
I'm just saying to make it easier, 1 pic submission per member per month.
Kinda like a race, you get one shot.....win or loose

I think you would get less pic submissions that way - I like seeing all the pics I can. We have a few days for voting where the posting thread will be closed. I think I'd like to see it go the way it is for a few months before making changes. I really like this idea, we will get some great pics to look at.

To maybe clear up some confusion, I don't think it will cause problems allowing people to change pics. If you want to change your pic, I hope that either users will delete the old post, or simply edit their first post and change the pictures URL. At the end of 3 weeks the picture submit thread will be locked, so no one will be able to add, edit, or change their posts or pictures. I will gather everyones one picture and start a new voting only thread, which will probably use a poll to vote. After a week, that thread will be locked too and the winner for the month will get yet another fresh new thread to boast and brag.
Scott brings up a good point though. If more then one pic is submitted by a user, and I am not informed which single pic they want to enter, by default I will use the first pic submitted for entry. Hopefully that won't happen too much though
The idea is to delete or edit if you want to change
