Hello to all. I had an opportunity to use a 4 wheeler while hunting this season. And now it appears the BUG has bitten me! Seriously looking at the Sportsman 500 HO. My question is does this model use engine compression for down hill braking? On some models the 4x4 selector has a picture of the machine going down hill? Sorry for the long post, just a little confused. Thanks for any help. Bearcat22.

Welcome to the forums. I would assume you are looking at the 2012 Spmn 500? If so, no...it doesn't come with EBS, but it can be added as an accessory to the machine.
just put it in low when going down hill and it is just like ebs also put it in 4x4 and it will definitely feel like it has engine braking. that's how my grandpa has it on is 2011 500
