I am a newbie from Indiana. A newbie on two levels, one to the forum and the other in ATV's all together.
Used the forum to help make my decision and what to buy.
Just bought a 2012 850 XP HO in Pursuit Camo with 2500lb winch. $7999 after financing OTD @ just Under $9500
When I went to pick it up, the conversation with my dealer went like this after all the paperwork was signed.
Dealer: So how much experience do you have with ATVs?
Me: Well the last time I rode one it had 3 wheels and no brakes to speak of. Other than that.......... none.
Dealer: Ah old school Honda UTC. How long ago was that?
Me: 1979 or 1980
Dealer: (with a very surprised look on his face) You mean to tell me that you have no real experience with 4 wheel ATVs and you buy the most powerful 4 wheeler in the industry? You do know this thing has 77 HP!!!
Me: Yep, that's the way I roll.
Dealer: The first bit of advice, wear a helmet and be careful. Then he proceeds to fill me in on all the features.Can't wait to get through the breakin period.
Still need to get a snow plow, brush guards, rack extenders and some other add ons.
Working on the break in and after riding for just an hour after getting it home Saturday I am SOOOO!!!! glad I bought the 850.
