Question Older rider / old machine...

I just recently acquried a 1998 Polaris Magnum 425 that needs work. first of all, the pull cord needs replaced, the starter (I believe) needs replaced, brakes all around, the choke needs adjusted, etc. My questions are as follows:

1. How hard is it to replace the pull cord and starter?
2. What are your feelings on a re-built starter VS. new starter?
3. Are the plastics on newer ATV's compatible with older ATV's?

Ultimately, I am looking to turn an old ATV into something new by changing plastics, lights, and possibly dash controls. IS THIS POSSIBLE?

Thank you for your time!

Welcome to the forum. For the money I would put a new starter on it. I use db electrical. They also sell on e-bay. Get starter and bendix. The pull start can get expensive to fix if parts are broken. EBC aftermarket brakes are pretty good.
