New Polaris?

Hello all, I am looking for a 2nd ride for the girlfriend and was suggested looking into Polaris. I have a Yamaha Grizzly 660 now and like it. I have a friend that is a dealer and said he can get me a great deal on a 2011 model for a price close to used ones. What would you suggest? Don't need lots of extras or big power. look at the Sportsman lines.
Thanks for the input!!!!
Scott

You won't be dissapointed with polaris. I owned a 700 grizz before my 800 sportsman and am really likeing the sportsman right now. (Not that I didn't also enjoy the grizz and would get another one in a second) Since it is for your GF I would look into getting one with power steering. See what kinda deal you can get on the sportsman 550 with eps and see if its comparable or better to the grizz 550 with eps. Also would be good to just get her to go with you and test drive the different models, 400, 500, 550, to see which one she feels most comfortable on.

don't know what kind of money you're looking at, but if 500 to 700cc's is what you're after and if you really want to spoil your girl you need to put the 550xp at the top of your list.. The ride is the best in the business bar none and I don't think you'll find an amature or professional that can really argue against that point.. The 500 and 800are killer machines too..

If I were buying a 4 wheeler for my wife right now, I would go with the smaller framed 400. She drives my 500 around and is ok but I get nervous. That's a lot of weight and size for her to have to deal with. I would feel more comfortable with her on the smaller machine. I would even consider a trail boss for size, but its just not AWD.

My wife is on a 2011 850 Touring with EPS and she loves it. I agree that the 550 is more than enough, but I got the 850 at the 550 price! The EPS has been well worth the cost, not for ease of steering, but for the anti-kickback protection.
