It's a nicely designed compact fuel container.

Change the title. It should be:

I'm so new but I did get one.

Now if I can figure out how to post a picture.

I think I have it attached.

Put the downpayment on it. Now if I can sell the wife's car I should be able to bring it home next week.

It has been well taken care of and is as clean as it can be. Has 1200 miles on it.

My brother has a 700 and his wife a 500. He has already said it needs some mud on it. I am sure I can get it dirty but the first time may be a little emotional.:chair fall:

Good Luck in whatever choice you make. Also welcome to the site.

Fishy - how do you like your front and rear brush guards? Why did you go w/ the nonPolaris brush guards? thnks

I'm at 9100 feet above sea level

Just as an ice breaker question,

If a Polaris 800 Sportsman from Indiana (900 ft. elevation) is taken to Colorado Springs (6210 ft. elevation) and then taken up the mountain (more elevation) what adjustments need to be made?
Tom,

I live just west of Colorado Springs but higher up. Your 800 won't have any problems and I don't see any adjustments needed. I moved here from Ft Campbell, KY several years ago with a fleet of toys. I didn't need to adjust anything and they all ran great at the elevation change. Well, except my Stihl chainsaw that needed to be re-jetted. In the Polaris line, I choose an 850 with fuel injection since I spend most of my time on it when it's less then 20 degrees outside. With the EFI, I just fire it up and I'm gone. At this altitude, the non-fuel injected toys do like a minute to warm up on the extremely cold mornings.

There is a great shop just west of the Springs in Woodland Park at about 8500 ft above sea level. Pikes Peak Polaris - you can find them on the web. They have a great service department and can tune your ride but I suspect, you won't find it neccesary. If you haven't rode here before, please note you'll need a permit to ride in most state/federal lands.
