Im a newby. Hi everyone. I bought this used 600 a few years ago and it has 26 or 27 in executioner tires on it for the wife. It always appeared to rev quit high. Now even more. I have a new belt on it as well as a new stock primary clutch spring (blue...from the first owner). Not sure of condition of the driven sheave springs etc. Looks like it was set up for high reving mud. Any ideas on what to do to bring the rpms down to like my 800 without too much cost or maybe something to look at mechanically that could be wrong?

There should be an "Idle adjustment" screw/knob on the left side of the carb? On my 03 Magnum it is a brass looking knurled knob pointing down. If you do find it before adjusting, get the bike warmed up to temp.
Does it rev high while at idle? or driving? If at idle, x2 on what res2cue said but while driving, im thinking the buttons it the secondary clutch are worn and not letting helix engage properly. Cheap fix [if its the prob], the only hard part is the damn snap ring holding the helix in place. jmo
Make sure u don't have an air leak as well spray carb cleaner or something like that on the carb boot that bolts to motor and if it revs higher than its cracked
