new 850xp

Hey yall, Your site looks like a good place to get info! I recently bought an '09 850 XP. I truely enjoy riding it....when it isnt in the shop.... I hope this is the proper forum to discuss my issues. I have a whopping 22 hours on it. I put it in the shop with about 5 hours on it with a bad coolant hose. I was also pretty surprised to find out how easy it was to foul plugs at about 8 hours. Now, i feel like my front end keeps trying to engage. It almost feels like the 4x4 decent control is enabled all the time...maybe even slipping in and out....but the switch setting is in 2x4. some strange noises and feelings coming from the front end. I first noticed some popping and tugging coming from the front end. Then it just about threw me off the road earlier today. This is my first "electronic" wheeler, but I am rather mechanically inclined. This beign under warranty, I dont really want to touch it, but am already tired of my service dept treating me like Im stupid. It went thru quite a rain storm this week and I wonder if something got wet, but I dont know what direction to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated..and hopefully, I won't become a disgruntled Polaris owner. Im beginning to wonder.

Yes, hello and welcome. I'm also a new owner of a 2010 850 XP. At least you have 22 hours on yours. Mine has 3 hours and I'm already experiencing problems. But again congradulations on your purchase.

welcome to the forum, this is a great place to get info on the sport we love. Lots of combined experience from the members here. This site seems to have constant activity where others have slacked off some. Your questions get answered here quickly. I too am glad i found Polaris Atv Forums, I found the link to this site from the Polaris website. I have met one of the guys on here (slyder01) and joined the club he belongs to (Workshop Trailblazers).

Have your dealer run your vin# through polaris, that will tell them if there is any recalls on it. It can be discouraging at times, but i love my ride!

Thanks, everybody. I hope I'm not on a long road here with getting the bugs worked out....the first time I took it in, the service manager said they had never worked on an XP. I'm calling them tomorrow about the front dif. I'll let you know what I find out.

either 1 they never sold a xp or not very many or 2 he's lying through his teeth . they have had 2 recalls on the 2009 xp and if they sold any they would do the warrenty work . I pick answer 2
