Good Day
Have 2001 500 Sportsman and is backfireing through carb.
Any ideas. Timeing or valves? Starts and idles good.

Sounds like it could be a bad camshaft.

do you have the air filter installed when it is backfiring? the reason i ask is i had the same problem when i purchased a used machine that needed repair
