Just picked up a project Polaris and signed up here to gather information to hopefully get it running again. Basic story is that the bottom end went out of it, guy took it apart to try to fix it, got in over his head and then ran out of money after loosing his job. It sat in a shed with the engine dismantled in a box beside it for 2 years. I found out about it and took it off his hands for $50. Its an Xplorer 300 4x4. Not sure of the year; but from what I've found on the web, looks like that particular model ran from '96-'99??? At the very least, I am going to fix the engine and have a 4-wheeler... but I am tossing around the idea of harvesting it for parts and fabricating my own Ranger-esk 2-seater utility cart. I just finished another involved fab project; so I don't know if I can start something else without my g/f leaving me. LOL
