95 Trail Boss 250

Hello every one! I recently purchased a '95 Trail Boss 250. Y'all probably know all the info but, it is a 2 stroke oil injected engine. I would appreciate any comments, hints, or tips about this atv. It is my first atv and, would appreciate any info. We will use it to push our sprint car to staging area. I've heard about pre-mixing oil/gas to prevent any problems in case of pump failure?

The oil pumps never fail it is the throttle cable that breaks. I would inspect and lube the throttle cable. Run a good synthetic oil not the Polaris brand. Do not mix the oil in the tank as this will cause a lean mixture and you could burn the engine down. Having the clutches cleaned, proper clutch parts and belt deflection set correctly will make that machine work real well for you.

Thanks Dirty Dawg Dale! Any and all info is greatly appreciated. Also, is there any place to get an owners manual? Can Polaris dealer order? I would really like to maintain and keep this atv in as good of shape as possible.
