2012 Sportsman XP to highlifter edition retrofit

Hey folks, new to the forum but felt obligated to share some insight about converting normal sportsman xp's to a highlifter edition. There's nothing currently out there that I could find aside from the actual manufactures technical drawings of the HL edition. So ever since they came out I've been wanting to integrate the bumper and the snorkel kit from it, I finally bought everything and decided to give it a go. Turned out really well and am extremely happy with the final product. It can be done....decided to make a little video of my progress and help better show what needs to be done

That's awesome. Thank you for sharing. I'm doing something similar with my 2010 850. I'm working on the snorkel now. I will post some pictures for you once I'm done doing it.

Yeah, fill this thread up into a how too? I would like to know what it cost you too (if you don't mind). I know that you can buy the factory looking snorkel fin for the can am and it makes regular outlanders look like XMR's, and that is a big deal here in MN as we are not allowed to snorkel our machines to any higher the 6" above factory intake. So those XMR look alikes are not getting stopped (bastards, LOL), so if I could get mine to look like a HL, then I will try...

The stealth snorkel would be legal in MN lolly. The air intake is where the gas tank normally is and the pod isn't much higher. I agree the highlifter would be the way to go but it might cost a lot.
I would be interested I your build as well.

Right now I have not relocated my battery. I like the idea of moving it lower, but also would like to move it to where the 2009 model has it, under the seat. I already have the highlifter low profile rad relocation kit. So I can't do center risers on the snorkels. I'm doing a little custom design on my risers, but having a problem on how I would get the front rack off. I will get some pictures put together and post them up here. Thanks again for video.

Okay, Like I promised here are some pictures of how mine turned out. I have a different Rad relocate than you. I did not have enough room to do center stacks.

I have a 2010 850xp w/EPS:

First picture is the overall finished product :

Now, something that worried me was the the airbox cover. So what I did was purchased the seal from an 850 highlifter and remove the foam pad that goes around the cover.

I will buy some o-rings to go around the mounting hardware. I just used what I had in my garage to help seal it.

Now I created a mouthing plate to help keep the snorkels stable. I made it so I can still remove the front rack.

Now some of the additional things I put on were the winch switch, highlifter 1000 wheels and mud bar.

I have a 2015 850 I would like to do this with. How did you attach your battery to the old rad location?

If you have a look at the video I think I do a little close up. There's a cross member between two fame tubes, it fit in there pretty well and I just used two stainless hose clamps to keep it in place. haven't had an issue since..I would suggest attaching all your positive and negative leads to the battery prior to mounting in place again. Was a Bitch to do it once it was mounted in place
