Jet KIT idea for my sportsman 500.

I am new to this and this is my very first post. I have a 2010 Sportsman 500 HO. I have a UNI air filter on it right now and at the end of the week or beginning of next week im ordering the HMF Swamp series exhaust for it. I want a JET KIT and i want to know the best kit. I was told that the 165 main with a 45 pilot would be best for me.

Any ideas?

Also does a clutch kit slow down a top end much? i just want to try to gain as much horsepower and response without really digging into the engine and boring pistons and such.

any help would be fantastic..
THANKS

All depends what you do to it in terms of springs and weights. Also, speaking to a pro at whatever company you decide to use will probably give you the best answers and they can work with you to get you exactly what you're looking for. I lost about 5 mph top end when I re-clutched my 2010 500 HO. I don't travel much above 55 mph anyway so it wasn't a big deal. Got much better throttle control and low end tourque which was worth the loss of 5 mph.

THANKS!
I dont really do a whole lot of fast traveling either. I do mainly trails, and creeks. Sometimes i dig into the mud. Sounds like the clutch kit would work great for me. a 5 MPH loss is not a big deal to me, and sounds like its worth the low end you gain.

Any recommendations on Clutch Kit brands?

I'm pretty sure they're all good. I went with EPI because I thought they were the easiest to order from. When I went to do the install I forgot to mark the spider and called them, they put me right out to a guy in the shop who walked me through how to rectify it. Turned out to not be a big deal because it was marked from ther factory, but anyway.

I bought the kit for "oversized tires" be/c I plan on upgrading them soon. Raised my engagement to 2200 which I am not too crazy about, but the backshift is better now. I burn more gas be/c I just love to punch it coming out out of a turn

I can buy a new spring to lower the engagement again, but I am waiting for the new tires.
