DYING Battery

Should I replace a Dying battery with a polaris battery or can i just use some other type that is cheaper? Its on my 09' 850. The price for a new one at my local dealer is around $140 bucks. Seems pretty steep to me.

I would buy a AGM(absorbed glass mat) battery. DEKA (East Penn), or Interstate brand

For a decent battery that will last longer then a year you are probably looking at $100+. Power sport battery's are expensive, and are a "you get what you pay for" thing

I had all kinds of problems out of my bike until I put in a Moose battery. Got it thru my dealer for around $150 installed. Best battery I have ever used.

The problem with power sports/lawn mower batteries is that they are small and they don't take well to sitting. Power sports machines do allot of sitting in the off season and almost all machines have some type of off season. The best thing you can do is buy a battery maintainer/charger like a Battery Tender and plug it in when ever you are going to let your machine sit more than a couple of days. These little batteries don't handle going dead well because they short across there plates. Keep them topped of with distiled water and fully charged and they will last for years. I have many cheaper off brand batteries that have lasted many years by doing this. Even the AGM batteries will benefit from keeping them fully charged. When I went to put a new battery in my 700 though I couldn't find anyone who sold a cheep one taht fit and spent $125 for one at the dealer. That was 4 years ago. Still going strong.
