xplorer to scrambler transmission swap?

i have a 1999 scrambler 400 4x4 and have heard of people dropping in a xplorer trans for a lo gear. is this possible? if so what year xplorer and what all do i need to do? thanks

I was woundering the same thing? I want to put a 98 xplorer trans into a 2000 scrambler. Xplorer has chains,Scrambler has drive shafts. I want to keep drive shafts.

the 01 era xplorers have drive shafts just like the scramblers.

You will need the 2000 or 2001 trans
