Newbie with a questions that probably has been answered 1000 time. Be gentle.

I just bought a 2004 scrambler 500 HO. It has the original exhaust that is preety rusty but not leaking or broke yet. What are my options and recommendations for replacement. I will mainly be trail riding with friends sometimes near neighborhood so most likely will stay away from anything super loud. Thanks in advance for the info.

Good thought, my 01 Scrambler is still quite as can be. I may try some paint over the off season. Would regular engine paint be hi-temp enough?

I would just clean up the one you have if you are worried about the way it looks. If you are in the market for a new one, I say stock. I have just about every mod you can think of on my atv but hated my aftermarket exhaust after the first ride. Just more annoying than anything and no noticable difference in power. Got my stock one back on now and love it. Your neighbors and people you ride with will appreciate it also.
