Dobeck EFI tuner

I had one of these come with my 800 Sportsman EFI and am wondering if installed they would make a big difference in performance? What exactly do they do in terms of performance.

Cheers!!

You need other mods to supplement it, otherwise it does nothing. It would go with an exhaust system, airbox mods, or engine mods. Some type of mod that would require the machine to need more fuel. Then, when installed, it piggybacks on the EFI system, and allows you to change the signal for the amount of fuel the injectors should use, thus, allowing you to have these mods, and get the machine running at the proper A/F ratio, much like if you were rejetting a carb after similiar mods.

Ive got a K&N filter, Mudslinger exhaust and EPI clutch kit. This was all installed by previous owner and the Dobeck can with it and looks like it was on the bike at one time as the velco is is on the bike were it is supposed to be mounted.
Im not a mechanic but the instructions look pretty straight forward. Any way you can really scew things up other then getting the connections wrong.

Cheers!!

Not really, they are pretty straight forward. I would look on their website to see if they have a manual in PDF or one that you can download.

With those mods you do not need the tuner. The 800 is too rich from the factory. You leaned it out a bit with those mods and thats a good thing.
