polaris 250 mods

heya all -- new here, just got a 250 trailblazer, it needs more HP. I searched for 250 mods and found only a permanent air filter mod -- was wondering if there is any porting / carb mods -- or does thing have reed valves? are aftermarket exhausts worth the money? -- ect. -- anything would be appreciated. I am going to have to tear down the engine as it only has 75 psi of compression, I am sure it should be around 110 or so--- Sooooo, new rings/piston may be needed, but was really curious if anyone has done any port work or anything like that. Give Rick Ritter a call @ Ritter Cycle. A pipe and clutch kit are the best bang-for-your-buck. Rick is nationally known for his Polaris work. A race ported 250 will run about the same as a stock 400 Scrambler/Sport.
