Winch install help PLEASE!!!

2011 sportsman 800 efi

OK, i installed my winch, everythings hooked up yet i got no power to it, when i push "in" or "out" i hear the contactor make a noise but nouthings going to the winch. I dont think the front black and red cables that were hanging down near the raidatior had power.... someone please help if u can!

PS i do see a extra black cable under my seat near my battery thats hooked to nouthing

Welcome aboard! It seems like there are so many wires going to the battery that it's real easy to overlook one of them. If the black wire under your seat is a heavy wire it probably belongs on your battery. If it seems like it's cut to fit (length) the battery that's likely your problem. On my atv before I hooked up the winch wires there was more than 1 wire going to the + and - terminals. After hooking up my winch I had 2 heavy red wires on the positive terminal, and 1 or 2 small ones and 2 heavy black wires, and 1 or 2 small ones on the negative terminal. If you have only 1 heavy wire on the negative terminal I would hook up the black one you found and give it a try.
