New exhaust ????

Would like some recommendations for a deep throaty after market exhaust. Would also like to gain some hp's.

2007 Came with the Dual Exhaust from the factory correct? The 800's are notorious for having a poor sound. You have AEEN, HSP, HMF and a few others.

So far for me HSP sounds the best but that doesn't mean it even sounds good, it's not the exhaust but the bike.

I did hear a sound clip on you tube of an aftermarket Dual exhaust and it did sound good, so may'be the Dual set-up sounds better then a single.

I've been looking for an exhaust for my 800 but I gave up after hearing the sound clips.

There is no slip on exhaust that sounds good on the 800 in my opinion. You will have to spend a lot of money on a full exhaust system and even then it isn't that great. The sound these motors put out just isn't a deep tone. And like IndyRed800 stated the HSP sounded the best out of all of the slip on's, But even then it still wasn't a great sound. I do not recommend an exhaust on the 800.

I couldn't find any slip on exhaust for either my 700 or 500. Both very similar set up. I went with a Big Gun header pipe back on both of them. There is a distinct difference in the sound between the 700 twin and the single 500 even though the exhausts are very similar. The 500 has that deep (loud) thumper sound similar to a V8. The 700 has a higher pitch sound more like a 4 or 6 cylinder tuner car. They both sound good to me. The wife complains about the 500. She hasn't said anything about the 700 although it is not what I would call quiet. It makes some noise when you get on it.
