I've got a '02 Scrambler X 400. I just bought it and it hadn't run in over 3 years so I have it all apart and am going through it.
The list of mods (that it came with) includes:
- Hot seat pipe and silencer
- Hot seat clutch kit
- Trail ported cyl with wiseco piston
- 38 mm mikuni carb
- V-force reeds and spacer
I am cleaning out the fuel system and was thinking of replacing the carb. Am I better off with a PWK 39 on it? I would like to use the stock airbox if possible. Right now there is just a K&N element fastened to the carb intake and I am worried about it sucking up junk.
My goal is to have a reliable trail machine. I've had a scrambler 500 in the past but this is the first 400 I've had. I'd appreciate some guidance in getting this set up right.
