polaris reverse override mod

Hey, does anyone know the wires that i need to tape into in order to bypass the override switch in reverse? I tryed using the Grey/orange and the red/white and using the power and ground from 12 volt outlet on the side of the light asssembaly as i found someone posted on the internet. But it didnt work. and when i push the override button it blows the main fuse in the bike. Is it possible to rewire so it automatically engages when put into reverse or is a switch necassary? Thank you in advance!

just tried this on my 2011 500 HO and it works, super easy to do too

Here's the reverse over-ride mod!
Reverse mod- pull the headlight pod off and disconnect the two harnesses going to it. On the big harness locate the gray/orange wire and use a splice connector with another 8" piece of wire and have a female spade end connected to it. Now do the same with the brown(ground) wire coming off the lighter/accessory plug. Hook the two female spades to a toggle switch that you can mount on the pod and you are done. You will have to turn the switch to the "off" position to use the yellow override button to scroll through the different modes or if a young or inexperienced rider is on it for safety.

Hey Thor, what do these kits entail, are they plug and play or is there splicing involved? Can you post a pic?

I bought mine from Reverse Override Lock Kit Polaris ATV Throttle Function Mods AWD very easy to install. It's $19 with shipping from Quadovator.
