Some will say yes, some will say no. Depends on the type & style riding you do!!! Trail with a little mud I would say you could get by without one. Mud with a little trail you may want to install one, also depends on the tires you choose to go with. Some are heavier than others. Allot of people go with this rule of thumb that if you go bigger than 2" above the stock tire to go with a clutch kit. I would suggest getting the tires then decide if a clutch kit is needed depending on how the wheeler performs.

Read a couple threads here where they have gone up to 29's without clutch kit. I would just wait & see, you can always get one if needed!

I went with 25" Spartacus and noticed some power loss and increased belt slippage. I added the clutch kit and now I get the front end off the ground in low and can climb much better in high. I think a lot has to do with the weight of the tire. Zillas from what I read here run a little small and are very light so you could probably get away with 27"s, mudlights too. Get a heavier radial (big horns, gbc's ect.) and you might find yourself having to upgrade the clutch IMHO. Good luck!

I am one that has run my 800 with 29.5 outlaws with no clutch kit without issues. Just make sure you know when to use low. If you are climbing hills, crawling over rocks, pushing snow, heavy towing, or going through some mud, then use the low gear. Most people that have issues with belt slippage don't know when to use the low gear. Polaris installed one for a reason though. lol.

I have a 07 500 that i put 26" bighorns on, i lost a lot of get up and go with how much they weigh. I still had the same top end but the low end suffered. I put an epi clutch kit on and holy crap is that thing fun to ride now. You will not regret a clutch kit and it isn't hard to do.
