Want to raise my 500 Ranger crew?

Looking for the pro's and con's if any about lifting my side by side. I going to be doing this myself. When loaded down I find myself with a ground clearance issue. I want to go with bigger rims and tires. How high should the lift be if I want 14" rims? Any thoughts on who sells the best lifts with the best prices?
Thanks in advance. Mike

Pros to lifting are increased ground clearance, fit bigger tires, mean look. Cons are increased chances of breaking axles, big lifts will make you wider. What are you looking for. A 2" lift or bigger? You can get ok clearance if you get a 2" lift with forward a-arms and 30" tires. Or you can go bigger and get a 3" CATVOS, or one of the 6" lifts from Gorilla, CATVOS, or Super ATV. As far as price goes, Superatv is usually cheapest, but you do get what you pay for.

I'm thinking the 3 inch lift will do. I want 14" rims with maybe 27" tires. Can you get away with a 2 inch lift?

im just going to suggest that i would stay with 2" lift, at most, as far as tires, i dont know...

the pros of lifts are, as said, more clearance, better look, better offroading capabilities (mostly because of clearance)
some cons are : more stress on the whole system in general, sometimes it widens the machine but , also ,you will need to "steer" more to keep it straight in a line, AND higher chances of roll over.

not sure how well this applies to rangers, but consider getting "HD springs" they will lift the machine up and will keep the machine above , i also recommend the HD springs with a lift...

the machine will tend to sag less when loaded...

hope i helped.
