Airbox Mods

Hey fellows I keep hearing about how people are modding their airbox's on the forum here but have not heard any details or pics of how people are doing this. I was thinking of doing this but didnt know exactly what direction to take.

I haven't seen anyone mod there air box other than put a K&N or UNI filter on.I thought about modifying mine like I have motorcycles in the past by cutting holes in the top and sides of the box or just taking the lid off. I decided against it because of how easy it would be to get mud and water into the box. I'm really not sure how much good it would do anyway. I don't think airflow into these machines is a problem.

Yea those look cool. I wonder if with the guards they will seal up completely to keep out water.

Uni makes some 1 inch filtered plugs that snap into 1 inch drilled holes. I have used them on motorcycles before. They do well for dirt and debris and maybe would stop splashed water but if the box got submerged I don't think they would hold out the water.

you can make your own snorkels easily enough, you just have to be smart about it.

ive seen a mod like that before they cut holes and riged it with screening like from pillows enough to breath but not enough to let dirt and mud in but water was a big issue oh btw the mod was on top the the air box and came out through the sides but he takes it off if he knows he going muddin ot through deep water he had a OEM replacement to cover it up when going mudding
also best used with k&n airfilter
