Thanks for all the tips on the clutching guys, but im really not looking to go that route as of now. Im just wanting to add a little pep to my bike. All im wanting to know is if anyone has had good luck doing so with the combination of a slip-on muffler, air filter, and a jet kit. Basically the only driving I do is trail riding. The bike performs well now, but like I stated earlier in this post I just want to add a little pep. Also if anyone prefers one brand to another please chime in and explain why you went that route. Thanks

Again, you will not feel the difference in 'pep' with a slip on exhaust. And by the time you get done putting a full exhaust on, doing engine mods, airbox mods, and custom tune, you just should have bought a bigger machine. Or just called Quadshop Customs and let Adam hook you up with a good clutch setup that will get you what you are looking for. But if you are set on a slip on, look at HSP, HMF, or Big Gun. As far as air filter, UNI or K&N. So about $280 for the slip on, $100 for the filter, and another $60 for a jet kit. So now your in $450 before shipping or installation/tuning if you don't do the jet kit yourself, to gain some throttle response and maybe 1-2HP. Just not worth it in my opinion when I can gain so much more from a $200 clutch setup. Let us know what you go with though and what results you achieved.

+1 on clutch kit. EPI makes full on clutch kits that are $250. For $25 you can buy just the primary clutch spring (PATV1).

I installed my PATV1 this week (2012 500) and rode it around the neighborhood a little bit. It is a definite improvement.

You may try the $25 route before you spend megabucks.

I have replaced the primary spring in all my bikes. Best $25 investment made, without the complexity of taking apart the rear clutch, rejetting, etc.

My ATV-GURU bumpers ARE FOR SALE, front and rear, BRAND NEW. Me a reasonable offer and they are YOURS.

(As you probably already know, they are currently unavailable from TheAtvSuperstore.com /ATV-Guru for an undisclosed amount of time).

Not sure why you wouldn't want to take the easier, less expensive, recommended by everyone who has heavier tires route in this case What is your reluctance? My quad doesn't jump at all, but I can pull wheelies now

You can put all that other stuff on later if you want a little more gain, although most people who have done it don't really notice much difference at all.

I ran my EPI PATV1 primary clutch spring for the first time this weekend in my 500. It definitely makes a difference. It is not huge. Only $25 on amazon.

If you need huge, don't waste 5-800 of your money on exhaust, jet kit, bla bla bla. Admit you bought the wrong bike and pony up for an 800 . (make a deal with the dealer to keep your tires and extra gear from your current bike...since they swap right over...)

I run the exact set up except for I have K&n air, but i am also using slip on hmf swamp xl and dynojet V .....all very simple yet a bit of $$ and there is a difference in power for sure. The clutch will put you over the top and feel the big difference though on the bottom end of things. Any questions just ask

Here's one more for a clutch job! Makes a ton of difference right away! You'll hardly notice the other stuff.
