I have a new 550 x2 looking to add a winch will a 2500 lbs. be a good size?

2500 or a 3000. Either would be a great addition. Going by truck winches. The general rule of thumb is the capacity of your winch should be at least 1.5 times the weight of your vehicle. So you can't lose with that size.
