valve adjustment info

my 2006 sportsmen 500 ho efi has 850 miles is it recomended to adjust the valves and if so is there a thread on this forum showing how to do it and the adjustment specs

2006 polaris 500 ho efi E.B.S. sportsmen k&n air filter . Genesis performance module . Hand gards . Back work lights .Front & back bumpers. 2500lbs warn polaris winch. A-arm covers front & back .Front & back rack extenders- Mossy oak soft bags & Rear passanger foot rests .Big wes cargo box .and a 60" polaris plow and a polaris gun side scabberd with 800 miles. Camo water grapics on the hand gards ,speedo mount, front plate,and shifter knob & gas cap- rear storage lid. 3 way head lite mod. Swamp lite 27s on itp ss 212 machined rims 12in. tall clear polaris lock & go wind sheild

Efi models have hydraulic lifters, so you don't have to adjust them.

2007 Sportsman 800 efi , L&R tall windshield, Viper Max 4000 lb. winch with 3/16" Amsteel rope by Atv Winch Rope, 25' Amsteel tow rope by Atv Winch Rope, RDC fairlead, RDC deluxe gas cap, RDC shifter, RDC overflow bottle cap, RDC 2" lift , 27" Maxxis bighorns s/w on Vision Outback 12" wheels, Uni air filter, Dalton o/bl primary clutch spring, front and rear brushguard, front and rear rack extensions, and a SanAngelo backrest

TWIN EFI models have the hydraulic lifters....

Single cylinders with or without EFI still need valve adjustments

twins are made by polaris, and made in the USA (although i think the new twins will be made in mexico)

the singles are outsourced and built by a company called Fiji. Which is why there is a difference.

johnnyjaws, i might be able to help you from the service manual, but i need a VIN# to be able to pull it up on my computer

i've got 3100km on mine i think its time to set the valves anyone know the spacjng

completely stock so far and unbreakable

johnny, a full VIN# on your machine and i should be able to look up the specs from polaris.
