Buying 2011 Sportsman 500 this month
Ive decided to get new Sportsman 500. I was wondering what kind of rebate to expect on the 11 sportsman 500. On the Polaris website it says
Rebates up to $500 on 2011 Sportsman Models* * On select 2011 models. See your dealer for details.
I dont want to miss out on saving some extra cash so i was wondering what to expect cause the dealer said nothing to me about it. I just noticed it on the site tonight.
Price I was quoted was 5490 for an 11 sportsman 500. Added freight and set up made the total 5875. They said no tax since Im out of state. Does this sound ok?

When I was looking in early Dec. a dealer told me $5000 for a 2011 Sportsman 500 and I asked plus the extra charges. He said no. The extra charges would have been under $400
there. I bought the 400 HO though. They are pretty much alike except I was told the 500 had 3 more horses. I got the winch and the front storage box like the 500 has for no charge plus 3.9 interest.

Sorry, I said the wrong price. The cheapest of the 2 dealers I talked to was $5999 and no add on costs. So, you are below that.

Actually I spoke with them again today and that price was with the rebate. They give you the rebate off the price then they get the rebate back.

glngib makes a good point about the 400. The 400 badging is a bit of a misnomer in that the motor is actually a 455cc displacement mill. The advertised horsepower rating for the 400 is 29 vs. 32 for the 500. Even though the 500 H.O. is like the best selling ATV model ever (or something like that), now that the 400 is built on the full-size platform, that makes it a serious contender as an alternative to the 500. If you're not someone who gets hung up on proudly displaying an indication of your displacement (the ATV's...not yours) on the side of the fuel tank, then the "rounded down" 400 stickers will probably be worth saving an extra $500 and only missing out on 3 more horsepower. And, if you have to have the front storage box that the 500 comes standard with, it can be had for $135 ($160 retail - $25 coupon you get when you sign up at Choose-Your-Ride).

Thanks for the HP numbers. That is why I am going 400 again, can spend the savings on EBS.
