WANTED: Polaris 850 Touring Super Graphite

I currently have a Raptor 700 and I've been considering buying a Polaris 850 Touring Super Graphite. I like the super graphite model because it comes with the winch and the hand warmers which are features I want. Am I better off adding these features to a standard 850 touring? Would it really save me money?

One of the reasons I want to buy the 850 is to be able to plow my driveway and the driveway at my rental house. I figured I can take the purchase of the quad and plow off on my taxes. :-) Of course, it'll probably be mostly used for fun.

I live near Reading, Pennsylvania. Can anyone tell me if there is a dealership nearby (willing to drive far) that can give me a really good quote?

If you go to the Polaris website and enter your zip code you can find a dealer near you. Then...I recommend sending emails to any and all dealers you are willing to travel...and make them an OTD offer. Becareful for those freight, prep, and doc fees.

Better off adding those features is really your call. If you like slinging wrenches...then it might be a good idea. Color not an issue? Then the Touring Graphite is the one for you. I'm partial to the Indy Red...so I have to wrench some to get my machine in order.

Cost aside...I prefer a WARN winch to a Polaris brand. The heated grips are cool...and not very difficult to install.

Good luck! I just purchased 2 Tourings (850 and 550) in the Indy Red. Now I got to get busy with the wrenches with the WARN RT30 install.

I would try to make a deal with your local dealers, the money you save from driving to a distant one might not be much of a bargan when you have to take it in for warranty work and you get put to the bottom of the list. Plus you have to consider the money your going to spend to get there with the tolls and gas. Slyder01 got a good deal up your way somewhere, his deal was a little better then the one I got in Vineland NJ, but by the time you add tax and such we had the same deal. My dealer in Vineland has new managment and I would have been able to make a better deal now compared to when I bought mine.

The main thing is having a dealer that will got to bat for you, and not blame the problem on rider abuse and lack of maintenance.

To buy regular touring or super graphite?..

I have a 2010 850 touring and in a word, its "outstanding".. Bought it because I love the way it looks, (boardwalk blue) the power is staggering and the machine is very refined.. With 2010 being the 1st year for this model I am also thankful to report that it has turned out to be very reliable as well.. Follow the maintenance in the manual and the machine does the rest.. I negotiated a 2500lb winch into my deal, then added the rear cargo box for 1up riding when it went on sale at my dealer.. My 2 cents is that if you don't need all of the goodies that the super graphite has all at once, just get the regular touring and buy the pieces here and there as you find deals.. If you're hooked on having it in black or just want to make sure very few have the same machine as you, than get the super graphite.. Either way you'll be top dog on the trails and very happy that you bought an 850 Touring no matter what options it has..
