looking for new atv, sick of AC!

New to the site and thought i would ask you guys your thoughts on which atv you guys like, and why.
I have an AC 700H1 and i like the machine but i am waaay tired of replacing parts every other day!
Right now i am leaning toward the 850 XP, or the 850 EPS, what about the 550?
Would love to hear your guys thoughts on this one....what to watch for, what wears out quickly, inherent problems that they have. Likes dislikes.
Dont want to end up with another machine that i am wrenching on every other day.

welcome to the forum. mine two cents you cant go wrong with the 850 eps xp . hands down the best atv on the market. the 2009 had two recalls i havent read about any consist problems with the 2010 and 2011. if you want to get a feel for one go to a dealership and give one a test drive.

What year AC H1?? I was strongly considering a 2011 AC 450 H1, but can get a nice 400/500 out the door with a few extras for considerably less.

well worth it i wont buy another with out. if you ever try backing up a trailer with a atv its sucks keeping both hands and steering while looking back with the eps one hand and you can turn your whole body around to see what your doing.

2008 700H1 SE. I really like the machine but after 2 broken axles, wiring rubbed in half, brakes worn out at 400 miles, leaks, paint peeling at 400 miles etc etc im just tired of it. I expect SOME maintanance, but this thing is killing me.

Also something i should of asked in my original post.....what about the axles on the Sportsman?
And what about dealing with warrenty issues?

Well, it depends on your thumb, and tires. (I know that is what others may say...)

well your right about the thumb....its the boys atv and yes he does ride it. I've had atvs all my life and have never worked on any like i have this one.

A arm bushings after 800 miles, shock bushings, A arm bushings are due again! Differential seal, i could go on and on.

i have an 08 sportsman 500 i maybe have 900 miles on it and have done nothing to it other than changing fluids
with that being said i have road sleds all my life and work on them none stop mostly my falt cant let go of the throtle and there is never to much power
so now i am left tinkering on my sportsman just to find things to do to it
but it is on my turms
i do think that once you start putting bigger tires and lifts and things of that nature you will start getting into replacen axles and other things

personelly I think the 850 or 550 is better than any a. c. The 850xp is one of if not the best 4x4 quad on the market today. POLARIS all the way. ..also the850 will be smoother and much more powerfull than your 700 A,C...Good luck and hope you join us....dont think you would regret it .My buddies who switched didnt
