Insurance coverage...what sort?

Hey everyone,

I was just curious how you cover your wheelers? I mean, what sort of coverage do you run on it? I didn't know any better, so i just told him to match what i had on our vehicles which is cost me about $200 per machine through progressive. However he didn't sound very familiar (local agent) with this coverage and neither did I. I am tempted to call State Farm and see what they can do for me for all my insurances.

Thanks in advance!

Give MARKEL a shot. Great prices and they pay off claims like gentlemen. I totaled my 2001 SP 500when six months old and they gave enough $$ for me to buy a 2002 SP 500.

I just purchased insurance for my '02 700. Off-road full coverage for the ATV is ~$140 per year (state farm). My ATV is street legal so I considered getting road insurance too but there is a drastic difference in cost. Over $250 every 6 months; to me its not worth it for the less than 40 miles on road usage per year. When I need to take it across town I will just trailer it and save the $450 for new toys...

Markel has good prices, not alot cheaper than my progressive quote, but cheaper. Only thing i noticed on theirs is they give you value of rig, not replacement cost.

I insure mine through American Family. Full coverage, (comp, liability, and collision,) costs me about $140 a year. I am required to keep insurance on it because I have a loan against it, but I think I'll keep the insurance even after it's paid off since it's so cheap.

Hi. I am an Independent Insurance Agent in Decatur, IL. We represent multiple companies such as Progressive, American Modern, and Foremost for recreational vehicles. The type of coverage that you select is very important, and it is good to have a local agent to help walk you through the coverage options that are available for you. You can go to Insurance Agent: Independent Insurance Agent | Progressive Agent and find a local agent near you. I would recommend stopping in the office and talking with them... and if you are near Decatur, IL, I would to talk to you! My website is www.nhi-insurance.com Have a great day!
