I am looking at buying a 1994 Scrambler 400 from a friend of mine. Its in pretty nice shape and was always taken care of but he went to start it this spring and it had no comprestion. Since its a 2 stroke and I have had a lot of experience with polaris 2 strokes (snowmobiles) I figure its blown rings or a detonated piston and I think its repairable. He said he was gonna sell it and is asking $650 for it. Worth buying or no? Plus I was cruising the web here to see how much a top end kit was and I cant seem to find parts for a 1994 Scrambler I know this is probably a dumb Question but did Polaris list the parts for them under a different name?

No such thing as a 1994 Scrambler as Polaris didn't start making the Scrambler until 1995... Price may not be bad, depending on the shape of the rest of the machine. My dad bought one last summer with bad piston which really didn't matter to us as we had another engine sittin around. Put that in and sold it this spring.
