How much for a 2003?

Hi, I have a chance to buy 2 sportsman 500's. Both 2003, one with 76km the other with 225km. Both have been stored indoor and run well on test drive. t
They look brand new, with no scratches, dents, or damage. I live on Vancouver Island in Canada. Wondering what these units are worth and what quality this year was. Have never owned a polaris before.

Wow I dont know what he wants for them, but its about time he sold them cause at that milage he dont use them! 76km isnt even 50miles! What is that like a 1/2 a tank of gas? And 225 km is 140 miles, thats hard to believe. If true I'd snacth them up for I'd say anything under 5k for both would be a deal. Cause there brand new, and "one " new one would coast over 6K.

03 was a pretty good year. Polaris had sorted out a lot of recall issues by then and had dumped most of their defective parts. The Sportsman were in the Gen IV chassis I believe- and that frame is ROCK solid. At that low of a milage those machines should still have the original AT489 tires on them (a really decent tire for stock). About the only issues you would have (other than possibly needing to clean the carbs and do fluid changes) is the batteries. Polaris was putting in wetcells (they still maybe using them) and at 8 years old (and not used very much)those puppies are gonna be pretty wasted (ask me How I know? cause my 03's original battery failed this winter). Decent AMG batteries run us (in the States) between $60 and $80. Not sure what they are up North.
The Kelly Blue Book shows a retail value of $3195 (please note that KBB values always seem WAY too low- and I have YET to see a used machine at a dealer that sold for Blue Book- they always go for much more)

In Quebec the 2003 500's are selling for $3500-$4000 depending on mileage and optional equipment, ie; passenger seat, winch etc. I paid $2500 for a high mileage 2001 500HO this spring and I figure I got a good deal.
