How much did you pay for a 2011 Sportsman 500 HO OTD?

Decided yesterday evening that I'm going to pull the trigger and start shopping the local dealerships around here for a '11 Sportsman 500 HO.

Of course, all of them are closed today since it's a Sunday and it seems that prior attempts to get a full quote via the polaris email system did not work.

So that brings us to this thread!

Forums go'ers - if you purchased an '11 Sportsman 500 HO this year - can you tell me how much you paid OTD for just the bike (not add-on's - that'll be negotiated separately) and what region/state you're in?

Just trying to get a good idea of what I'm going to be looking at after rebate, etc. It looks like some guys are seeing $5500-5600 OTD? Seem about right?

No! Motorcity is high, only go there with the number you are willing to pay.

I bought my 11 500 SP in January, they quoted me somewhere around $6300. Monroe Powersports in Monroe, MI was $5580. These are all OTD. Motorcity told me I would have to come in for them to even consider dropping that much. I went with Monroe.

I bought a 11 Trail Boss last week. I called Monroe, $3975. I called Motorcity, $42??. I laughed on the phone by accident. He asked what price was I getting everywhere else, implying he knew he was high. I had talked to the same gentleman in January, and tried to reminded him who I was and that I went with Monroe because I only negotiate on the phone. I told him $3975 was my best quote. He said he would call me back, he did and said $3900 if I bought it today. I did.

I have had similiar situations with them on other powersport purchases. They are 5 min from me so I try to negotiate them down so I don't have a far drive.

Dealers are the means to an end. I don't trust them with my machines, I don't trust their prices. I never lie about a quote from another dealer to get a better price, I tell them if my number has been met by someone or if it is just what I am willing to pay. Know what you want, what you will pay and have the deal worked out before even going in. Works for me anyway.

I'll have to check them out. If you don't mind me asking. Did you finance or pay in full?
