most of my riding is on solid trails. normally the worst we see are some downed trees to go over, but that is the exception not the rule. i live in pennsylvania and we ride a lot of logging roads and old rail grades that have been torn out.

I usually hate when you ask questions about two machines and somebody tells you to get something different but, You can get a Sportsman 500 for about what your paying. A sportsman 500 will put that zuki to shame when the going gets rough. True 4wd and lots more power and traction. Its the better machine IMO. I say go for the sportsman 500.

the 500 sportsman is a nice bike never here any thing bad about them they just need efi agian

IRS, is the way to go, if you can get a 500 for the same price go for it, Just keep the fluids in check and I'm sure it will last you a long time. Abuse it like anything else and it will fail.

I have a 2011 500... With mods up the wazoo... The IRS the only difference between these and others is probably what the swaybar??? They all have rubber bushings that fail.... etc... IRS durability didn't even come into the fold when I decided what bike I wanted...
The engine is a carb but it makes no difference to me, it runs like any other machine and probably starts quicker then my cousin's cat with FI...Mod ur bike, Jet it... Better then running a 350 dollar power commander...
I'd never personally buy any machine without IRS way to ruff for me... Mine rides better then a solid axle bike and I run HD highlifter springs all around...
Buy the sportsman, you'll be glad you did...
